Blue Derby Mountain Bike Trails

One for the thrill seekers! The Blue Derby Mountain Bike trails have transformed a town once best known for its rich mining history, to a bustling mountain biking mecca. There are 125km of trails suitable for the entire family. Since opening in 2015 the trails have become a must do for mountain biking enthusiasts from beginners, through to experienced riders. Pipers Brook Wineries

The Tamar Valley is Tasmania’s oldest wine growing area and a place where premium cool climate wines, outstanding fresh produce and award winning restaurants go hand in hand. Cellar door tastings are a specialty of the area – there are some magnificent vineyards around the Pipers Brook and the Tamar Valley offering superb views and gourmet experiences.

Little Blue Lake – South Mt. Cameron

Little Blue Lake, just metres off the B82 between Derby and Gladstone, is a natural phenomenon resulting from the pioneering mining days of South Mount Cameron and the surrounding areas of the Far North East of Tasmania.

Originally a mine hole, the lake reflects a vivid aqua blue from the minerals in its base. Now popular with locals for waterskiing, swimming is, nevertheless, not recommended due to the high mineral content in the water.
